Dhoni's 5-Year-Old Daughter Ziva Getting Rape Threats After CSK's Loss, Is Extremely Disturbing
The comments appeared on MS Dhoni and Sakshi Dhoni¡¯s Instagram accounts and this has caused massive outrage.Users have given rape threats to MS Dhoni¡¯s six-year-old daughter Ziva
There has been ample conversation about rape culture and how we've normalised rape threats and even the heinous act itself. It no longer matters whether or not you are in the public eye; whether you're voicing dissent or just putting a funny video on the Internet - rape threats have become uncomfortably common. The worst part is, society always finds the fault in the victim.
In a brand-new and utterly shameful low, some users on social media have issued rape threats to MS Dhoni¡¯s five-year-old daughter Ziva, following Chennai Super Kings¡¯s 10-run loss to Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2020.
Nothing, absolutely NOTHING justifies rape threats, and the fact that these have been given to a five-year-old just shows how depraved some people are.

Do you see the future of this country for women? where they're normally giving a 6 year old rape threats because her father didn't play a game well?
Makes me sick
The messages are shockingly toxic, and it looks like the last smidgen of self-control and civil behavior has finally been lost.

After Dhoni fell to Chakravarthy for 11 (12) in the 17th over, CSK still needed 39 off 21. Kedar Jadhav, on the other hand, struggled to middle the ball, scoring an unbeaten yet snail-paced 7 off 12.
India loves cricket, in fact it worships it. There's nothing wrong with that. But if a team losing a match is translating into violent threats and a blatant display of misogyny, then maybe we need to take a long hard look at where we are going. It's not the sport that is causing this, it's merely bringing the toxicity to the surface; what's alarming is something as inconsequential as losing a match was enough to do that.
Every day, thousands of women get rape threats from people on and off the Internet. It seems to have become increasingly easy to threaten someone with this gruesome form of violence. What's worse is people then try to justify it with stuff like 'Oh, it was a joke' or 'If she wears such clothes that is bound to happen' or 'It was said in a fit of anger, nothing really happened'. What, and how much more, is it going to take for us to realise what the real problem is? To stop victim shaming and start looking for and implementing changes to fix this depraved scenario?
