1. K. Jaiganesh

Originating from the village of Vinavamangalam near Ambur in northern Tamil Nadu, Jaiganesh began his career as a waiter in a modest eatery in Chennai to meet his basic needs.

Despite possessing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the Government Thanthai Periyar Institute of Technology in Vellore, he resorted to various odd jobs to maintain financial stability.

Today, we present the incredibly inspiring journey of K. Jaiganesh, who triumphed over numerous obstacles to achieve the prestigious status of an IAS officer.

Emerging from a background of poverty, he clinched the 156th rank in the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Exam in 2007, persisting through six unsuccessful attempts.

Recognising the necessity to relocate to Chennai for enhanced prospects, he secured admission to the government-operated All-India Institute for IAS Coaching at Anna Nagar.

With a determination to cover monthly expenses, including a mess bill of Rs 600 and travel costs, Jaiganesh engaged in various jobs, as detailed by a prominent daily.

His path involved periods of employment at Satyam Cinemas, where the rigorous schedule left him with limited time for exam preparation. Later, he chose to work at a dining establishment, a decision that afforded him the essential time to concentrate on his studies. In 2007, after relentless efforts, Jaiganesh triumphed in the Civil Services Exam.

After this achievement, he enrolled in the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy for Public Administration in Mussourie.

2. Anu Kumari

Let's delve into the motivating story of Anu Kumari, an IAS officer. Despite being a mom to a toddler, she bravely chose to take on the UPSC exams.

Her commitment led her to leave her child temporarily for preparation, and she achieved remarkable success by securing the second position in the 2017 exam.

Hailing from Sonipat, Haryana, Anu Kumari holds a BSc (Hons) in Physics from Delhi University and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from IMT, Nagpur.

Achieving success was not handed to Anu Kumari effortlessly. In her initial try at the UPSC exam, she fell short by just one mark, leading to heartbreak.

However, she resiliently retained her determination and decided to make another attempt. In her second endeavour, Anu Kumari triumphed, securing All India Rank 2 in 2017 and realising her dream of becoming an IAS officer.

3. Vijay Wardhan

The journey of IAS officer Vijay Wardhan aligns seamlessly with the proverb, "Failure is not the opposite of success; it is a part of success."

Contrary to those who might give up after a couple of attempts, Vijay Wardhan from Haryana persevered through numerous setbacks. Faced with failure in 35 different competitive exams, he refused to succumb to despair. Instead, he viewed each rejection as an opportunity to learn from his mistakes.

Contrary to being demotivated, the continuous challenges fueled his determination, and he eventually succeeded in cracking the UPSC.

Initially selected as an IPS officer in UPSC CSE, he is currently undergoing training to become an IAS officer.

Hailing from Sirsa, Haryana, Wardhan completed his schooling in his hometown and pursued a B.Tech. in Electronics Engineering from Hisar.

After completing his engineering degree, Vijay Wardhan relocated to Delhi to prepare for the UPSC. Throughout his preparation, he undertook 30 competitive exams, including Haryana PCS, UPPSC, SSC, and CGL, yet he faced disappointment as success eluded him in all of them.

Despite the setbacks, he refused to surrender. In 2014, Wardhan attempted the UPSC exam for the first time but fell short.

Undeterred, he persistently made four consecutive attempts, each ending in failure. Eventually, in 2018, his unwavering dedication bore fruit as he successfully cracked the UPSC, securing an All India Rank (AIR) of 104 and becoming an IPS officer.

However, not content with his IPS position, Vijay Wardhan once again took the UPSC test, achieving the rank of IAS in 2021.
