Heartwarming! A Man Takes His Pet Dog With Leukemia On His Final Trek To Mountain In Wales
Carlos Fresco took his pet dog, Monty, for his last trip before the 10-year-old labradoodle passed away after months of battling leukaemia.
A dog is truly a man's best friend and the following story about a doggo and his human will melt your heart.
A dog owner Carlos Fresco took his pet dog 10-year-old labradoodle Monty for his last trip before the doggo passed away after months of battling leukemia.
Heartwarming pictures of their last trip together were shared on Facebook by The Brecon and Radnor Express. In the pictures, one could see that Carlos carried Monty up in a wheelbarrow to his favourite mountain in Brecon, Wales as the dog couldn't walk due to his illness. The two had hiked to the same spot several times before in the past.
Carlos told SWNS, "I knew Monty was dying as his cancer had returned. He was diagnosed 18 months ago and responded very well to chemotherapy. Although he was weak, he enjoyed all the fuss and attention received by so many well-wishers. People on the hills were so kind and equally so sad at his deteriorating condition."
Many people even asked to pull the wheelbarrow so that they too could spend the time with the dog.
Sadly, on June 21, Monty passed away. But Carlos is so glad he was able to take the dog on one last great walk. He told Metro, "That little guy touched so many lives,¡¯ Made everyone he came into contact with a smile and just take a moment to reflect how sometimes life¡¯s not that bad. Our little companions are never judgemental, are always there waiting for you and offer comfort when things haven¡¯t gone well. Monty passed away at the foot of my bed on Monday morning. Aged ten. The little fella hung on for Father¡¯s Day and is now at peace."
Monty really got all the love he deserved for being such a good dog.
