New Zealand MP Cycles All The Way To Hospital While In Labour For The Second Time!
New Zealand MP Julie Anne Genter got on her bicycle on Sunday and rode it all the way to a nearby hospital while being in labour. Also, this is not the first time she has done this.
A politician won't be caught dead riding a bicycle in India, but looks like this Member of Parliament from New Zealand is going to break some sort of record.
New Zealand MP Julie Anne Genter got on her bicycle on Sunday and rode it all the way to a nearby hospital while being in labour. Also, this is not the first time she has done this.
According to Reuters, she gave birth to her second child after an hour of reaching the hospital. Following the successful delivery, the Greens politician wrote on Facebook that the newest member of her family was welcomed at 3:04 am.
¡°At 3.04 am this morning we welcomed the newest member of our family. I genuinely wasn¡¯t planning to cycle in labour, but it did end up happening,¡± Genter wrote on Facebook along with some pictures of her bicycle ride to the hospital.
She added that her contractions 'weren't bad' when she and her husband started for the hospital at 2 am.
However, it was pretty intense by the time they reached their destination.
The post added: ¡°And amazingly now we have a healthy, happy little one sleeping, as is her dad. Feeling blessed to have had excellent care and support from a great team, in what turned out to be a very fast (and happily uncomplicated) birth¡±.
Genter rode a bicycle while being in labour back in 2018 during her first pregnancy as well.
