The incident took place on July 19 in China¡¯s Anhui province.
Nine-year-old performs CPR on his mother after accident
The mother was riding an electric bicycle to pick up her son when she was involved in a car accident and knocked unconscious.
The video taken by onlookers at the site shows the woman lying on the ground at a busy traffic intersection, with blood oozing out of a wound on her head.
Her son, identified only by his surname Wu, can be heard calling out ¡°mom, mom¡± in the video of the incident. When he was unable to rouse his mother, he began performing CPR on her in an attempt to resuscitate her.
After he failed to bring her back to consciousness, he used an umbrella to shield her from the sun while waiting for an ambulance.
¡°Mum, you¡¯ve got to hang in there!¡± the boy was heard telling his mother.
The boy¡¯s father later told local media his wife had received life-threatening injuries. She, however, regained consciousness while being taken to the hospital. She is still receiving treatment for her injuries.
¡°My son is nine years old, and we never taught him CPR,¡± he said, as per South China Morning Post. ¡°He picked it up on his own from television.¡±
Nurse saves man's life by performing CPR onboard moving bus
Earlier in April, a woman from Kochi, Kerala was hailed a hero after her alertness and quick thinking saved a fellow passenger's life onboard a city bus. The 34-year-old woman, Sheeba Anish, who is a nurse, was on her way home after duty and boarded the bus at 9.10 pm.
After being on the bus for 10 minutes, when the bus reached Elavoor Kavala, she felt a hand touch her shoulder, and suddenly, a passenger behind her collapsed.
Sheeba, who works at the Apollo Adlux Hospital in Kochi, detected a dropping pulse, Sheeba sensed that things would become worse quickly. She requested the KSRTC driver to stop the vehicle at the nearest hospital. However, according to her, he did not and blamed the rush on the road.
¡°I immediately called up the hospital to request an ambulance. Since his pulse was dropping quickly, I decided to give him CPR. After two rounds of CPR, he regained consciousness and was able to sit upright. He was later taken to the Angamaly Government Hospital,¡± said Sheeba.
