Woman Redefines 'Sis Code,' Orders Uber For Complete Stranger Because She 'Couldn't Leave Her Alone'
In another heartwarming incident that resurfaced recently, a woman refused to leave another she saw was "drunk" and "sitting alone on a bench." Imagining a world run completely by women is one thing, but right now we can settle for this feel-good story about a woman who looked out for a complete stranger and ensured she reached home safely.
What happened?
An old tweet from X user Andrea reads: "Bought a girl a uber last night i just couldn¡¯t leave her there all alone on the bench drunk." The image accompanying the post reveals the cute exchange between them the next day:
Going by the viral post, Andrea wrote to the unnamed stranger the next day to find out if she'd reached home safely.
"hey! i hope you made it home safe with your uber," Andrea wrote.
"Hi! I'm home... are you the girl that helped me last night?" wrote back the stranger.
To this, Andrea replied, "Yes! just wanted to make sure everything's okay now :)"
"Oh my goodness... Thank you sssooooooo much!!! From the bottom of my heart thank you sooo much... You are an angel sent to me. I was just telling my friend... idk who she is or where she came from but she made sure to stay with me and made sure I got home. I am forever grateful for you! How much was the uber? I can zelle you back," was the response she got.
Long story short...
Andrea took to social media to further explain what happened. She was with a friend when she saw the girl sitting on a bench crying and throwing up. Not one to leave a sister behind she asked if she could help her.
The girl then explained that her sister-in-law had left her there and she didn't even have her phone on her. Andrea confirmed the girl's home address and ordered an Uber for her.
Not only that, Andrea ensured the driver had good ratings, which thankfully he did. She texted her the next morning to confirm she was fine. The post soon went viral. Now, this was back in 2022, but the post seems to have resurfaced and earned some love again.
Here's how the internet reacted:
One user simply thanked Andrea and wrote, "Thank you for being such a kind human being. Sadly there aren¡¯t enough of them. You saved this person from goodness knows what. I thank you."
Another person shared a similar experience they'd had, "Amazing! This happened to me once, before uber though lol. I was basically black out drunk and got kicked out of the bar we were all in. No one knew i got kicked out. I ended up in a random parking lot throwing up with my head in my knees. A group of people walked by and one of the guys stopped anc came over to me to see if i was ok. He seen i clearly wasn't. He called a cab and waited with me. The cab showed up he got me in gave the cab driver 30 bucks and had me repeat my address. Told the cab driver get him home. The cab driver took me home and walked me to the door."
"I¡¯ve done this for girls I found drunk and passed out in club bathrooms before ?? girl code fr," wrote a third.
The original X post racked up 377.4k likes and 3.9K in bookmarks.
