US Man Plants Banana Trees To Deal With Potholes In His City, Florida
The man identified as Bryan Raymond, a local business owner in the area, said he came up with the idea after getting frustrated with filling in the holes in the street with cement repeatedly.
The problem of potholes remains a universal problem. But a man from the US found an innovative way to cover it up.
Fed up with a dangerous pothole located in the middle of a street, a Florida man decided to make a statement about road conditions by filling the cement hole with a banana tree.
Bryan Raymond of Fort Myers, Florida, planted the banana tree on Thursday night after growing frustrated with constantly filling the pothole with cement.
Raymond, who owns a business on the same street where the pothole was located mentioned that his security cameras have watched the hole repeatedly cause damage to cars.
¡°If we have to maintain it and make sure nobody gets hurt, we are going to put something obvious there to make sure nobody gets in the hole,¡± Raymond told WBBH TV.
Raymond said that since the roadway is located on a private street, business owners are responsible for its maintenance, rather than the county. And since the pothole was deep enough to fit the tree, Raymond told the news outlet that it seemed like the perfect statement.
While many were amused by the green solution, it also left many drivers startled. ¡°I pulled up and I¡¯m like, is that really a tree in the middle of the road?¡± a resident John Hulker, who lives in Fort Myers, told WINK-TV.
This surely is an innovative way.
