Kim Soo Hyun's sexually suggestive messages to Kim Sae Ron from 2016 exposed by her family: 'What kind of relationship was it?'

On March 27, 2025, Kim Sae Ron's family held a press conference in Seocho-gu, Seoul, as previously planned. During the event, their legal representative, Bu Ji Wok, revealed text messages exchanged between Kim Soo Hyun and the late actress in 2016, when she was only 16. The family argued that these texts provide sufficient evidence of their relationship while she was a minor, a claim that has been categorically denied by Kim Soo Hyun's agency, Gold Medalist.

This comes after Kim Sae Ron's family previously shared personal photos of the former couple, including an image of Kim Soo Hyun kissing her on the cheek and another of him in a nude state.

Kim Sae Ron's family has stated that their relationship began in 2015 when she was 15 and Kim Soo Hyun was 27. However, Kim Soo Hyun's agency has acknowledged the relationship but contested the timeline, asserting that they only began dating once she reached the legal age of consent.

Kim Sae Ron's family shared a screenshot of alleged text messages exchanged between the late actress and Kim Soo Hyun. In the conversation, dated to 2016, Kim Soo Hyun expressed his desire to hold her and sleep. Kim Sae Ron then wrote, "You never wake up." Kim Soo Hyun replied, "Yeah, I wouldn¡¯t know, even if you kissed me."

She then responded, ¡°So you wouldn¡¯t notice even if I did it a few times. Yay.¡± In reply, the My Love from the Star actor said, "When can I hold you and fall asleep? I think I¡¯d be able to sleep really well then." Kim Sae Ron answered, ¡°I¡¯ll let you do that.¡±

The family claims these texts prove the sexual nature of their relationship, once again highlighting the allegations that the actor groomed the late actress.

Their conversation just didn't stop there. Kim Soo Hyun further asked her how long it would take for her to allow him to be physically intimate with her. He suggested one year, to which she responded, "Hmm. Maybe?" When he mentioned three years, referring to when she would be of legal age, she replied, "I mean, a year is pretty long. But 3'?" He then asked, "You think a year is too long? Then in 6 months?" Kim Sae Ron responded, "I will do it when I want to. No promises."

Another chat that also dates back to 2016 was also shared by the late actress' family. The messages showed Kim Sae Ron sending a heart emoji and a "kiss" sound effect to Kim Soo Hyun, who responded with, "Do it for real later." She was then seen asking if he misses her or not, to which he responded it's cute of her to ask that.

As Kim Soo Hyun had previously claimed that the relationship only began when Kim Sae Ron reached the legal age, Bu Ji Wok questioned, ¡°If this wasn¡¯t a romantic relationship, then what kind of relationship was it? I want to ask Kim Soo Hyun directly.¡± He further emphasised that at the time, Kim Sae Ron was 17 (Korean age) years old.
