This year's Miss Nepal, Jane Dipika Garrett, competed in the annual worldwide major beauty pageant, which took place on November 18 at the Gimnasio Nacional Jos¨¦ Adolfo Pineda in San Salvador, El Salvador.
The 22-year-old declared, "As a curvaceous woman who doesn't follow certain beauty standards, I'm here to represent all women," expressing her support for body positivity.
What were her struggles?
She also talked about her past battles with body image. Success, in my opinion, varies from individual to individual. It means a lot to me to be on this stage and to tell it how it is.
"I was a very insecure person and had very low self-esteem a few years ago," Garret continued. I consider myself successful now that I love who I am. Ultimately, Garrett emerged as a popular figure on social media and placed among the top 20 contestants at Miss Universe.
"Top 20, baby! In an Instagram message addressed to her 280,000 followers, the semifinalist expressed her gratitude to all of her supporters and fans.
"What counts is that I gave it my all! I'm thrilled to be defying beauty pageant preconceptions and representing genuine size beauty globally." She went on to say, "So proud of the new Miss Universe and will forever cherish this season of my life that was life-changing!"
