Popular TikTok star Efecan Kultur, who was known for his extreme eating ¡®mukbang¡¯ videos on social media, died at the age of 24.
According to Turkiye Today, the social media influencer passed away after being admitted to the hospital for almost three months. As per the report, the major reason behind his death was obesity-related health conditions.

What is a 'mukbang' video, and why is it so popular?
'Mukbang' is a Korean word that combines the words 'eating' and 'broadcast.' It is a type of video that shows the hosts eating large quantities of food while interacting with their audience. Though it first became very famous in South Korea, it was quickly adopted by online content creators from across the world.
These videos are often live-streamed, and sometimes these videos are pre-recorded. In the show, the host is seen eating different food items from fast food to home-cooked meals.

Well, Efecan Kultur, the 24-year-old TikTok star, would make similar videos on eating massive amounts of food in his videos, which later left him with obesity-related health complications.
Dangers of the 'mukbang' trend
According to the Daily Mail, he revealed that he was even unable to move on his own and couldn't even visit his mother's grave, who passed away last year.
Well, the 'mukbang' trend involves massive amounts of food that pose significant health dangers. Moreover, this is not the first time that a content creator has lost their life due to obesity-related problems.
Behind the scenes of mukbang videos, there are real-life personalities who suffer the consequences of consuming more calories in just one meal than they should in a day. In 2019, an American YouTuber, Nicholas Perry, also known as Nikocado Avocado, reported that excessive eating for mukbang videos had negatively affected his health.
On the other hand, an Italian mukbanger Omar Palermo also died of a heart attack.
