While Rest Of India Deals With Heatwave, Surprise Rain In Bengaluru Has Locals Thanking Their Stars
Heavy rainfall hits several parts of Bengaluru, including Frazer Town, Shivajinagar, Chandra Layout, Vijayanagar and Hosahalli.
While people in Northwest and central India are dealing with the worst heatwave the country has ever seen, Bengaluru received heavy rainfall on Sunday.
Even though the heavy rains caused waterlogging and power cuts in many parts of the city, Bengaluru residents made sure to flex the amazing weather in their city by posting pictures and videos of the same. Many even made fun of the rest of us for dealing with scorching heat while they are enjoying their days eating pakoras and tea.
Here are some Tweets by Bengaluru residents that will surely make the rest of you jealous. One user said, ¡°Sorry rest of India if Bangalore is offending you right now. A report by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday predicted isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over Karnataka for the next five days due to wind discontinuity over peninsular India at lower tropospheric levels.
Meanwhile, heatstroke has caused 21 deaths in Maharashtra which is the highest in the past five years. Heatstroke symptoms include dizziness, nausea, heartburn, muscle cramps, and fatigue. Health experts have suggested that people avoid going out in the afternoons.
As per IMD, a heatwave is when the maximum difference in temperature is between 4.5 and 6 degrees. So, if a region's usual temperature is 40 degrees and the actual documented temperature is 45 degrees, the area is experiencing a heatwave.
