The first begins with King Hiranyakashyap and his sister Holika. The king believed himself to be a god, and wanted everyone to worship him. His son, Prahlada, refused to do so as he followed Lord Vishnu. Filled with rage at his son's disobedience, Hiranyakshyap hatched a plan with his sister to kill him.

Holika possessed an enchanted shawl that protected her from the flames. Therefore, she would take Prahlada to a fire and he would be killed, while she would be unaffected. However, the plan backfired as Vishnu saved Prahlada and it was Holika who died in the flames. Later, the king was also killed by the god and Prahlada took the throne. The moral of the story, celebrated at Holi, is that good always triumphs over evil.

According to the belief, Krishna loved Radha but felt bad because of the difference in their skin colours. So, following his mother's advice, he painted Radha's face in a colourful way to match with his face colour, so that they could celebrate their love together without judgment since then Holi is celebrated for ages.

One of the most frequently asked questions about the festival is: what to wear for holi celebration? The answer is simple, put on an old outfit that you know won't have problems if it breaks! Don't forget to bring sunglasses to protect your eyes and a hat if you want to protect your hair.

To cleanse the skin after Holi use milk or cleansing lotion, with a cotton pad and warm water. Remember to always keep your eyes and lips tightly closed while washing.

After bathing, do not forget to hydrate your body and face in an exaggerated way, so that the skin does not become dry. A good tip is to bet on homemade powder, those that use more natural ingredients and are not harmful to health.
