Indian student ridiculed woman on LinkedIn for not referring him, ends up facing her in interview
An Indian student mocked a woman as a "diversity hire" on LinkedIn after she advised him to improve his resume. Later, he was shocked to discover she was his interviewer for a job. Here's what happened.
An Indian student humiliated a woman as a "diversity hire" on LinkedIn, only to encounter her as an interviewer later. The student was "scared as hell" when he discovered that the woman he mocked on the business and employment-focused social media platform was his interviewer. An IITian friend of the interviewer shared on X (previously known as Twitter) a story about how "karma bites you back in ways you can't even fathom".
What happened with the Indian student?
One of my female friends working at a startup, got a message on Linkedin a few weeks back from a college kid asking for a referral for a sde-1 opening, she didn't find the resume good enough & asked him to improve it further before applying. This guy started belittling and¡

The IITian, who is a former Microsoft employee, also mentioned how the student humiliated his friend, ¡°This guy started belittling and shaming her for being a ¡®diversity hire¡¯, and that she wasn¡¯t capable of advising him.¡±
Despite receiving a referral for a position at a product-based company, the student was completely taken aback when he learned about the interviewer. He accused the same woman of being a "diversity hire" on LinkedIn.

Its utterly stupid to unprovokedly insult a senior employee of a company you want to work in. Even if you get hired you're starting off with a beef with a senior employee ?
Also, if the woman knew what kind of personality this person is, it could have¡
Thoda different perspective se bolunga isme iska referral mila toh iska resume dekh ke interview schedule hui hogi so decent resume Raha hoga par haa ego pe rakh ke dusre dusre ko belittle nhi krna chahiye tha

It should affect her decision for candidature. Bad behaviour only worsens if folks think they can get away with it. Someone else will be subjected to this now, probably another woman.

I¡¯d question the culture of a company that thinks it¡¯s okay to hire a candidate like this one.
She should absolutely use the past experience to inform her judgement. At the end of the day you're hiring them not just for the skill but the overall value they bring to the table. And someone who behaves in this toxic manner would not find a place in my team irresp of skills.
