Millionaire To Donate 99% Of His Fortune When He Dies To Keep His Kids 'Motivated To Work'
Burnley Savings and Loans, his company, is a community bank that focuses on the growth of local businesses.
To keep his children inspired, a modest millionaire has announced he will give away 99 percent of his wealth. Dave Fishwick became a millionaire on his own, and in the middle of the 2008 financial crisis, he opened his bank.
Burnley Savings and Loans, his company, is a community bank that focuses on the growth of local businesses.
Fishwick, a man from Burnley who dropped out of school at the age of 16 and received no formal education, is now a self-made millionaire who flies his own helicopter while retaining his humility.
Despite making a fortune selling minibusses, the man plans to donate the vast majority of his income instead of leaving it to his children.
He continued, saying he didn't want to "burden" his children with wealth.
He told the Daily Star, "It¡¯s so important that the children work hard because I have seen lots of people who have become successful and wealthy, and they spoil their kids, and the kids have no understanding of money whatsoever."
"I will give 99 percent of my wealth away when I pass away, whatever week or year. Hopefully, it¡¯s a long time away."
Fiswick stated that he wants to instill a strong work ethic in his children by telling them he once worked three jobs.

He added, "It¡¯s important that you have that work ethic, and I think hard work puts you where some good luck will find you. My kids don¡¯t always agree, but they are good kids."
