A week ago, a video titled "I was today years old when I found out about the Baby Olympics" was posted on Instagram and has since gone viral, racking up over 1 million likes.

The Baby Olympics video even features full Olympic-style commentary and crowds cheering on the babies, just like a real Olympic event.
The caption explains, "The Baby Olympics is a fun, informal event where infants and toddlers compete in activities tailored to their age and abilities. These events include crawling races, toddling sprints, and baby obstacle courses, all designed to celebrate young children's growth in a playful and family-friendly way."
But is Baby Olympics, where babies actually compete in Olympic-style games, a real thing?
Well turns out it all started with spoof videos released by the Official Olympics website in April 2017, featuring "Baby Games" and "Baby Winter Games" with kids in Olympic sports. They even have a behind-the-scenes video showing the entire process.

Following this, the Bahrain Olympics Committee organised the Bahrain Baby Games in 2018, where competitors aged two to five participated in athletics, gymnastics, football, and basketball.
Further, baby crawling races have also appeared on shows like Ellen DeGeneres' TV show in 2018.
