World's fastest car aims for new speed record, may exceed 500 kilometers per hour
Christian von Koenigsegg founded the Swedish firm in 1994. It has since been responsible for some of the world's fastest supercars.
Driving really, extremely quickly is a joy that many drivers aim for. And that top speed may have been increased thanks to the world's quickest automobile. If you know anything about cars, you won't be surprised to learn that the team behind the new goals is the trendsetting Koenigsegg team.
Which car is set to make a new speed record?
Christian von Koenigsegg founded the Swedish firm in 1994, and it has since been responsible for some of the world's fastest supercars, which you may have seen being tested by the likes of Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear.
At a cost of $3 million (?2.34 million) for each car, Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut admits it has no idea how fast the vehicle can go, claiming 'time will tell... [but] it will be insanely fast'.
What is the requirement to test the speed?
Von Koenigsegg, speaking on the Top Gear magazine podcast, stated that his team in ?ngelholm, Sweden, is eager to test their computer models in real-world scenarios.

One thing is certain: the team will need a long stretch of road to achieve the top speed. According to predictions, the Jesko Absolut might easily exceed 500 kilometres per hour (311 mph). This is quicker than the fastest electric vehicle on the planet, the Aspark Owl, which reached 272.61 mph in early July.
How fast is the car expected to go?
In addition to the necessity for a long enough route, whether a speed of more than 500 km/h is possible will be determined by the tyres and their ability to withstand the severe pressure and heat exerted on them.
The most likely scenario will be a public road that is closed to the general public, so there is little to no possibility of bystanders being injured if something goes wrong.
