Zomato's train food service faces 'revenge' from Bengaluru techie: 'Not the experience I wished you to have'
Zomato's new train food delivery service was launched in partnership with IRCTC in September. Recently, a Bengaluru techie shared his experience ordering food on a Mumbai-Pune train through Zomato, in a thread on X that has since gone viral.
In September, Zomato teamed up with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to launch its new service, "Zomato - Food Delivery in Trains." A Bengaluru techie who recently tried the service shared his experience, revealing how he used the opportunity to take a 'revenge' at the platform for the first time.
Bengaluru techie Sunny Gupta recently shared his experience with Zomato's new train food delivery service while travelling from Mumbai to Pune.
Curious about the service, Gupta decided to order Triple Schezwan rice through the app after being prompted to enter his Passenger Name Record (PNR).
He detailed his experience in a viral X thread, writing, "Decided to skip ordering from the attendant and give Zomato on Train a chance."
So I¡¯m travelling to Pune after a while.

By train from Mumbai!
Happened to open @zomato and saw this prompt to enter my PNR! pic.twitter.com/5Jo6vJst3S
Gupta selected Panvel station as his delivery location, even adding a playful "Panvel" dialogue from the movie Golmaal to the mix and placed an order for food worth Rs 465, which was set to be delivered directly to his berth.
Decided to skip ordering from the attendant and give Zomato on Train a chance.

Found this hotel serving Triple Shezwan Rice. I have an option to choose delivery an any upcoming station. Picked Panvel! pic.twitter.com/8FZkKC9MAZ
As the train ran late, Gupta remarked, "This is probably the first time I am taking revenge on @zomato," as the delivery guy waited for him to arrive. "This is not the experience I wished you to have. I would like to thank you for your patience . As a token of appreciation, I will pay Rs. 50 tip extra on my next order," he added.
However, he did point out one issue: despite clearly requesting spoons and a plate, his order arrived without any spoons.
Alright so he is here!
