Day 1 of the 32nd Hanteo Music Awards took place on Saturday, February 15, and saw many winners take home their trophies. The two-part ceremony, largely determined by fan votes, honoured artists across various categories, with TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) winning the Artist of the Year award.
Not just that, Choi Yeonjun of TXT also won the Global Artist in Oceania award. However, the speech he gave upon receiving the award has become a trending topic on social media.
What did Choi Yeonjun say?
The artist, known for his flamboyant style, powerful dance moves, and expressive features, faced criticism from many when he released his solo mixtape GGUM. Whether it was the choreography of the title track or his fashion choices for the album, everything was scrutinized. However, TXT's fandom, MOAs, always defended him.
So when he won the award, in his Global Artist acceptance speech, Yeonjun said, "A lot of people might have mixed reactions to my dancing or singing, but I don't mind it and will keep on moving my hips regardless."
