10 Months Into Marriage, Indonesian Woman Discovers Her Husband Is Actually A Woman
In the ten-month relationship as a married couple, NA claims she and her family were duped and conned out of ?16,531.
An Indonesian bride claims she was conned by her "husband" of ten months. According to the woman, the person she married was a woman.
A Mirror report claims the victim has been named as' NA 'in legal documents.
After meeting a man on a dating app, NA met the man (referred to as AA in documents). Their sweet love story took a noticeable turn as they tied the knot.
According to legal documents, AA claimed to be a man who was a trained surgeon in the coal business. NA left her home after marrying to be with her husband.
In the ten-month relationship as a married couple, NA claims she and her family were duped and conned out of ?16,531.
NA also wrote her story on social media after the case grabbed headlines in her home country, Indonesia.
After the groom could not present his civil documents required for a state-sanctioned wedding, they married in a nikah Siri arrangement, which is recognized by religion but not by the state.
The newlyweds moved into NA's parents' home. During this period, NA's parents started to suspect AA of not being able to back up his claims that he was a US-trained surgeon and a coal businessman.
Local Publication Coconut further added that AA and NA moved out of their parent's homes to live in Sumatra to avoid the spotlight. Na was confined to the house for several months, the report adds.
Na also alleged that AA controlled their finances, and after their daughter went missing, NA's mother contacted the police to track the couple down.
During a police interview, AA revealed that she identified as a woman, not a man; her real name was EY.
AA was asked how she could manage to bluff for so long and how she hid her gender while having an active sex life as a married couple.
NA addressed a common question on social media by stating that before sex, EY would always turn off the lights and blindfold her.
After NA's parents reported EY to the police, revelations were made that they were conned out of IDR 300 million (around ?16,537-Rs 15.7 lakh). According to the report, AA made her appearance in the Jambi District Court in Indonesia on Tuesday, June 14. The trial between NA and AA is still in court.
