Passenger Catches Worker Applying Tape To Plane Wing Before Takeoff, But Here's Why It Shouldn't Shock You
A shocking video of an airline worker using tape on a plane's wing before takeoff has gone viral, leaving netizens stunned and raising concerns about air travel safety.
Many air travellers around the world experience pre-flight nerves, especially during the period leading up to takeoff. This is a time when passengers often hope and pray that everything remains in order with the flight. However, what happens when such a passenger catches an absolutely terrifying sight? They descend into a panic.
Airline Worker Tapes Plane Wing Before Takeoff In Viral Video
Well, something of the sort happened when a Spirit Airlines passenger caught a worker fixing up the airplane minutes before takeoff. Just before a flight was set to take off from the Nashville International Airport, a TikToker caught a Spirit Airlines employee fixing up the plane using some tape.
Yes, you read that right! The passenger recorded a man putting on silver-coloured tape on the wing of the plane. The TikToker who hails from Alabama managed to catch the maintenance work on camera as she saw the whole ordeal from her window seat.
In the video, the passenger said, ¡°I don¡¯t care if it is aviation airplane tape or nothing, the fact that you have to tape the plane together and then you doing it while people are on the flight like we cannot see you. That¡¯s the reason why I will not fly with Spirit, now Southwest I¡¯ll do, but Spirit no sir.¡±
She went on to add, ¡°After a while, they¡¯re going to need a fresh new roll of tape, their tapes gonna lose all its stickiness, you flying all around the world and you got tape holding it together. Don¡¯t even worry about it, I won¡¯t be booking with you.¡±

The Tape Used By The Worker Was No Ordinary Duct Tape
While many people on the internet were baffled by the video, the few who knew their aviation gathered to inform others that the tape used in the video is actually called ¡°speed tape¡± and is used regularly by airlines around the world.
It is aluminum-based tape designed for temporary and minor aircraft repairs. Therefore, the scene was nothing out of the ordinary and definitely not something to lose sleep over.
It¡¯s called speed tape, and it¡¯s not meant to hold anything together but cover roughed edges.

There is no harm if you put high-speed tape on the aircraft, it is made for that purpose only.

That isn't normal tape and is actually made for this I can't remember the price anymore but it's a surprising amount for a roll of tape
