According to reports, the virus, primarily carried by infected mosquitoes, has been identified in several villages throughout the afflicted counties. Because Dengue fever can cause high fever, terrible headaches, joint and muscle pain, and, in severe cases, hemorrhagic fever or organ damage, its accelerating expansion has generated concerns about a future health crisis.
Health officials are working hard to contain the outbreak, enacting mosquito control measures and launching public awareness campaigns to educate citizens on preventive measures. Residents are encouraged to remove standing water and use protective gear and insect repellents to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds.

As dengue virus cases rise, Florida health officials have issued a mosquito-borne sickness notice for Broward County this month. Broward County, which includes Fort Lauderdale, has joined Miami-Dade County as the disease spreads.
In its July 30-August 5 arbovirus surveillance report, the Florida Department of Health reported two cases of locally acquired dengue in Broward County.
This year, 10 instances of locally acquired dengue fever have been documented in the Sunshine State, with the majority occurring in Miami-Dade County.
The majority of the ten were discovered in July. "PCR has serotyped ten cases," the department stated. "In 2022, there were two locally acquired dengue cases," the Broward County Health Department reported.
This year, over 200 cases were documented in persons in Florida who had travelled to a dengue-endemic location in the two weeks preceding commencement.

According to the government, ten instances were documented among non-Florida residents, and one case matched the threshold for severe dengue.
Dengue fever is transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito and is not generally found in Florida. Infected travellers, on the other hand, can spread the virus to Florida mosquitoes.
People with a history of dengue fever, pregnant women, newborns, the elderly, and those with comorbidities are also at higher risk. Severe illness can develop in people who do not have any of these risk factors.
According to the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, 225 dengue cases have been documented in the United States this year. Dengue fever became a nationally reportable disease in 2010.
