'Ye Kaisa Anyay Ho Raha Hai': Food Blogger Trying 'Momo Paratha' In Viral Video Has People Stumped
The experiments with food are showing no signs of stopping. And unfortunately, it's our beloved momo that's facing the wrath of extreme trends that seem nothing but bizarre.
The experiments with food are showing no signs of stopping. And unfortunately, it's our beloved momo that's facing the wrath of extreme trends that seem nothing but bizarre. If you thought we had seen the worst of these experiments, think again. The latest and perhaps the most outlandish trend is the unusual combination of momos and a paratha.
In a video shared by food blogger Amar Sirohi on his YouTube channel known as Foodie Incarnate, he can be seen with a plate of piping hot momo paratha.
The dish consisted of a regular paratha with a stuffing that¡¯s often used in vegetarian momos. The paratha had vegetables like cabbage, carrot and onion stuffed inside. It was served with the regular spicy chilli sauce and the word ¡®momo¡¯ was written all over the parantha with mayonnaise.
Needless to say, Amar wasn't impressed with the experimental momo paratha and revealed it had no salt and a lot of oil. He also said that the filling was extremely spicy.
Since being shared, the video has garnered almost 3 lakh views. People also weren't pleased with the dish. "Momo be like, ab yehi sab karo mere saath," one user commented. ¡°This is dishonour of both momo and parantha ,¡± another user said. "Apocalypse door nahi hai," a third user commented. "Ye kaisa anyay ho raha momos ke saath,' a user said.
This isn't the first such experiment with momos. A video recently went viral showing a food vendor selling kulhad-baked momos.
In a video shared by food blogger Hardik Malik on Instagram, a vendor is seen tossing momos into a rich sauce of mayonnaise, two sauces, and seasoning. He further added sauce mixture, and chopped onions, chopped capsicum and sweet corn in the mix!
He then takes the ¡®mixture¡¯ in earthen glass and fills it with two momos each. Then proceeds to put it in the oven before serving the gooey baked dish, also garnishing it with seasonings. According to Malik, the dish is available in East Delhi¡¯s Krishna Nagar for those who don't mind experimenting.
If that isn't enough, a video went viral last month showing a street vendor selling "fire momo".
The video shows the street vendor taking a few pieces of momo, and tossing them into a frying pan with hot oil inside. He fries the momo and then drains out the hot oil. After that, he adds some chopped up vegetables to the pan and a handful of sauces. At some point, the momo inside the pan catches fire, and the vendor keeps tossing them around till all the ingredients are properly mixed.
He then serves them on a paper plate.
