Unusual sneaker collaborations are nothing new. Remember Nike and Ben & Jerry¡¯s Chunky Dunkys? Adidas and Star Wars or Zara's partnership with PlayStation?
Unusual sneaker collaborations are nothing new. Remember Nike and Ben & Jerry¡¯s Chunky Dunkys? Adidas and Star Wars or Zara's partnership with PlayStation? Now, Heineken has joined the bandwagon, with a sneaker with which people can drink beer.
Heineken teamed up with ¡°The Shoe Surgeon,¡± aka Dominic Ciambrone, a celebrated sneaker designer, to produce ¡®Heinekicks¡¯, the shoes will give you the feeling of ¡°walking on beer¡±.
Heineken launches sneakers that contain beer
Sharing the first look of the smart pair of shoes, the beer company tweeted, "Beer for your sole Designed in collaboration with noted shoe designer, Dominic Ciambrone, to celebrate the smoothness of Heineken?? Silver. Heinekicks aren't your everyday shoe, but it¡¯s not every day you get to walk on beer."
The sneaker, though bizarre, has a few unique design elements to the Heinekicks. The lace-up kicks feature the colours green, red and silver echoing the shades on the Heineken Silver bottles. In addition, each shoe has a removable metal bottle opener built into the tongue.

But the most striking feature of 'Heinekicks' is its sole, which is filled with actual beer. Yeah, just Heineken being Heineken.
The company used a specialized surgical injection method to inject beer into the soles, aiming to create a ¡°smooth¡± sensation when walking in the shoes that supposedly mirrors the taste profile of the beer.
The weird pair of shoes has sparked a debate on various social media sites - some become an instant fan of the new pair of shoes, while others just couldn't get their head around it.
How do I get them? I would like a pair.

Balenciaga launches 'fully destroyed' sneakers
Earlier in May, Balenciaga took the distressed sneakers game to a different level after launching 'fully destroyed' collection.
Dubbed the Paris Sneaker, Balenciaga¡¯s bizarre footwear comes in two variants - high top and mule varieties. Priced at $625 (Rs 48,000) and $495 (Rs 38,000) respectively, the sneakers. They are made with fully-destroyed cotton and rubber and feature frayed edges on the collar, tongue and lacing system.
According to Balenciaga, these specific pairs were created for the sneaker¡¯s ad campaign and come ¡°extremely worn, marked up, and dirtied.¡±
Balenciaga announced the collection with a note explaining the idea behind the sneakers. According to the brand, the sneakers are "a retooled classic design which interprets mid-century athleticism and timeless casual wear in black, white, or red, with a white rubber sole and toe. It is finished with distressed canvas and rough edges, affecting a pre-worn look."
