Kerala Wedding Descends Into Chaos After Groom's Friends Are Denied Extra 'Papad'

Weddings are never without drama, but a mass brawl during that special day is not something one would expect. Recently, chaotic scenes were witnessed during a wedding in Kerala. The reason? Well... papad!

The incident reportedly took place in Alappuzha district and it was all because of our beloved papad.

A spat broke out when friends of the groom asked for more papad but were denied them. What started as an argument soon turned into a fistfight that required police intervention.

A video circulating online shows a scene of complete chaos, with people throwing punches and kicking each other. The fight got to a point where not only fists but chairs and tables were also thrown at each other.

The clip was shared on Twitter by a user who wrote, ¡°In the great 100 per cent literate state of Kerala, a fist fight broke out at a wedding after friends of the bridegroom demanded papad during the feast.¡±

Following the clash, Alappuzha police registered a case against 10 people, who were apparently being identified.

"A few friends of bridegroom asked for more papad, which the employees of the catering agency refused to serve. A war of words ensued. Later the groups clashed and threw chairs," an official told The Hindu.

Wedding goes downhill after guests start massive brawl

Earlier in February, a wedding in Australia descended into chaos after guests started a massive brawl.

A nice wedding reception in an upmarket suburb in Sydney turned into a disaster after many guests were seen brawling on the streets. Footage of the same was captured and shared online for everyone to watch.

In this now-viral clip, people wearing formal clothes can be seen throwing vicious punches at each other. The incident took place in Mosman on the lower north shore.

"This is after a wedding. Not sure the context but the groomsmen and guests were fighting amongst themselves," the person who shot the video said.

One man was reportedly so badly beaten up that he was left unconscious in front of halted traffic. The man also got a broken nose after the punch. A tall, bald-headed partygoer pushed a woman to the ground as well before rushing at one of the guests. There were multiple fights happening at once on the street.

Over 30 people were brawling on the streets and police were called up to stop this altercation. By the time police arrived, most of those involved had left the scene, according to news.com.au.
