Sweet Revenge! Man Calls Company That Never Responded To His Job Application & Withdraws It After 14 Years
Social media influencer "Little Slug Company" pranked the company that never responded to his job application.
At least once in our life, we all have faced rejection by companies we are applying to. But what is more frustrating is when companies don't even respond to us. Whether it is a positive response or a negative one, we hate it when the HRs of the companies just leave us hanging and ghost us.
A man withdraws job application after 14 years
So, a social media influencer found the perfect revenge for those HRs who leave us hanging. This influencer goes by the handle name 'Little Slug Company' got sweet revenge on a company he applied to work for in 2008. He hilariously prank-called the company named The Royal to withdraw his application after 14 years.
The guy has a huge following for his comedic acts and gets a lot of attention for those.
He starts by calling the company and talking to a representative. He puts the entire call on speaker. He says that he had applied for the role of "front-of-house manager", following which the employee tells him that they could find such a position on the list. Further, the confused employee asks him the date of his application. The star then explains that his application was submitted in 2008.
The recruiter thought the man was on drugs
He continued: "2008. You guys made the application process proper long and stressful but I never got an email back so I assumed you're still deciding who to hire. "I've managed to land a new job today actually so I thought I'd withdraw my application." The employee who was evidently shocked by this time asks the year again. "2008? Are you on drugs?" This is when the social media star was actually left speechless and the video ended with that.
People on the internet were left in splits by this hilarious interaction. Many thought this was pretty much the right thing to do. Some thought that this prank was only necessary considering how much these HRs waste the appliers' time.
One user wrote: "They wasted your time, it's only fair you waste theirs." A second questioned: "Honestly, how hard is it to send an 'unfortunately this time...' e-mail." "When I was travelling in Australia I applied for Woolworths and got a rejection email two years later," another wrote. A fourth said: "This is how petty I¡¯d like to be."
Do you think what this influencer did with the poor employee on the other end of the line was the right thing to do? Or was he being petty? Let us know in the comments section.
