The wavy appearance of the blue background and a white pointed object might make it look like a ship out at sea, but don't be fooled.

The brain teaser was shared by TikToker Pasillusion, who captioned it, "This picture is not what you think it is."

So if it's not a ship sailing away, then what could it be? Brace yourself because it will surprise you: it's a leather sofa with a split in it. Isn't that just insane?

It's not the only optical illusion that has left the internet stumped recently. Another optical illusion appears to show several coloured squares moving - even if they are not.

The mind-boggling artwork will leave you convinced the squares are in motion, but it's really just a static image tricking your mind. If you look closely, you will also see pink and white shapes on lime or sea-green squares in the optical illusion. Despite being arranged in straight lines, the work often appears as if it is curved or even animated to viewers.

The optical illusion was created by Japanese psychology expert Professor Akiyoshi Kitaoka and he says the design is meant to create a wavy effect. Yet not everyone can see while some people can see it moving. Does it work for you?

The illusion is named caf¨¦ wall, for the simple reason that it was discovered in the tiles on the wall of a caf¨¦ in Bristol, UK. While it is an old illusion, it continues to leave people and psychologists perplexed. So much so that the cause of the illusion¡¯s effect has not been fully explained.

If you look at the image, you will see that ¡®tiles¡¯ are set in perfect horizontally, but the ¡®mortar¡¯ between the tiles will appear wonky to you. What makes it more intriguing is the fact the part of the caf¨¦ wall illusion effect persists even when the viewer is aware of it.
