Zomato Delivery Agent Delivers Food On Horseback To Avoid Chaos At Petrol Pumps
A video depicting a man galloping around the streets of Hyderabad holding a bag with Zomato's logo has gone viral at a time when long lineups at petrol pumps were spotted during a truck driver protest over the new hit-and-run rule.
Zomato delivery agents know how to grab attention. This video is another such example. Here's what happened recently in Hyderabad when one Zomato executive wanted to avoid the rush and chaos at petrol pumps.
What happened in Hyderabad?
A video showing a man galloping around the streets of Hyderabad holding a bag with Zomato's logo has gone viral recently. This clip comes at a time when petrol pumps are seeing long lineups given the truck drivers' protest over the new hit-and-run rule.
Where did this incident take place?
The Zomato delivery agent arrived on horseback at Chanchalguda, which is located close to the Imperial Hotel. The man was seen waving to the crowd after arriving on horseback.
Why did he opt for this unique approach?
The delivery agent can be heard in the video telling a passerby that he chose to ride on horseback to deliver the food after the pumps ran out of fuel.
When asked what had happened, the horseman said, "Petrol nahi mila bhai. Teen ghante me khada raha. Petrol is not available on Zomato." (There was no gasoline. I waited in line for three hours. I left after taking the order but was unable to obtain the gasoline).
Long lines spilled onto Hyderabad's main roadways on Tuesday as a significant number of motorists gathered at petrol and diesel filling stations, causing traffic bottlenecks in numerous spots for some time, according to PTI.
How did the authorities react?
According to authorities, the traffic bottleneck was under control by the evening. "There is (fuel) availability. People are concerned that it may not be accessible due to truck driver agitation, thus they are flocking to petrol pumps in big numbers, resulting in queues that spilled over onto the highways, causing traffic jams at first," a senior police official told PTI.
According to a petrol retail outlet owner, the city's fuel supply has been impacted by the truck drivers' strike since Monday. Barricades were also observed at certain city petrol stations, while some motorists reported that they were unable to fill up their vehicles since some of the outlets were "closed," causing them trouble.
