Pavel Durov, CEO and co-founder of Telegram, recently made a big revelation that has stunned many on the internet. Durov disclosed that he has fathered over 100 children across 12 countries through sperm donation. The tech entrepreneur also announced that he plans to open-source his DNA, allowing his biological children to find each other more easily.
¡°Fifteen years ago, a friend of mine approached me with a weird request. He said that he and his wife couldn¡¯t have kids due to a fertility issue and asked me to donate sperm at a clinic for them to have a baby. I laughed my ass off before realising he was dead serious,¡± he wrote on Telegram.
Mr Durov continued, "This sounded crazy enough to get me to sign up for sperm donation. Fast forward to 2024, my past donating activity has helped over a hundred couples in 12 countries to have kids. Moreover, many years after I stopped being a donor, at least one IVF clinic still has my frozen sperm available for anonymous use by families who want to have kids."

Who was Genghis Khan and what is the context behind Musk¡¯s comment?
Genghis Khan expanded his Mongol Empire from the Pacific Ocean to the Danube River during the late 12th and early 13th centuries. Despite his reputation as a ruthless warrior, he left behind a remarkable legacy of procreation. It's estimated that around 16 million men alive today are descendants of Genghis Khan. Though he died eight centuries ago, his legacy endures through the numerous children he fathered across his vast territories.
Musk probably drew parallels between these two as with Durov¡¯s tally of kids, he has also created a legacy of his own.
