Electric cars have been topping the sales charts in certain segments in countries like the US. With so much hype around them, you would think that people must have become accustomed to them by now. Not quite, as is clear in a recent video.
A recent video doing the rounds on the Internet shows yet another Tesla driver trying to fill up the electric car with petrol.
A Tesla Model 3 driver in Las Vegas is the one gaining fame for the hilarious reason. In a video, he can be seen trying to fill up his Tesla Model 3 with gasoline. It is not until the driver gets off the car and looks for a gasoline inlet that he realizes that it is an electric car.
Originally posted by Justin Flom on Facebook, the video has been shot at a gasoline station in the US. From the Tesla Model 3 standing in front of the person making the video, a person can be seen getting off the car at the station in front of a pump.
The person in the video is then seen paying for the gasoline and being ready to pour it in his car. Soon, he realizes that there are no fuel inlets in the car. In the video, he can be seen frantically searching for the inlet on both sides of the car, the bonnet as well as the trunk.
Around three minutes into the video, the guy can be seen taking out his smartphone, presumably to google the solution. It is then when he realizes that the Model 3 is an electric car and does not need gasoline to run. He can be seen visibly distraught after finding it out.
A similar incident was recorded in a video in December 2018, when a woman tried to fill in petrol in her electric Tesla Model S. The video had gone viral at the time for the same hilarious effort of finding a fuel inlet in the electric car. It was only after a few minutes that a person came in and helped her with the situation.
Though many assume this to be merely a stupid move on an owner¡¯s part, it is also possible that the people in both the situations were driving a friend¡¯s car and were unaware of their electric nature. If they are, indeed, the owners of the vehicles in the videos, god save Elon Musk¡¯s aim to make Tesla a household name.
