Ever since Akshay Kumar faced an intense backlash for being associated with a paan masala brand, celebs are extra cautious of what they choose to endorse. And when a fan wrongly tagged Suniel Shetty after looking at a paan masala ad billboard, the actor had a tongue-in-cheek response.
An advertisement poster of Vimal Elaichi showed actors Ajay Devgn, Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar posing together along with the famous tagline 'bolo zubaan kesari' featured on the billboard. When a fan took note of the billboard's picture on Twitter, he criticised the three actors for endorsing the product. However, the Twitter user tagged Suniel Shetty instead of Ajay Devgn in the post.?
Suniel Shetty was quick to respond to the fan and wrote, "Bhai tu apna chashma adjust kar le ya badal de."
He wrote, "Hello @SunielVShetty Sorry it was just mistagged and i didn't mean to hurt you bhai, lot of love. It should be ( @ajaydevgn ) As I am your fan you name ups always first in tag."
Akshay's apology note had read, "I?am sorry. I would like to apologise to you, all my fans and well-wishers. Your reaction over the past few days has deeply affected me. While I have not and will not endorse tobacco, I respect the outpouring of your feelings in light of my association with Vimal Elaichi.?
"With all humility, I step back. I have decided to contribute the entire endorsement fee towards a worthy cause. The brand might continue airing the ads till the legal duration of the contract that is binding upon me, but I promise to be extremely mindful in making my future choices. In return, I shall forever continue to ask for your love and wishes."
It all started when a?video released by the brand?showed?Ajay Devgn driving a car while Shah Rukh is seen sitting next to him. As soon as SRK says, ¡°Dekhein, kaun naya khiladi aaya hai (Let¡¯s see which new player has arrived)," Akshay Kumar enters the frame holding a packet of Vimal Elaichi.?
