Based on Amar Bhushan's spy novel Escape to Nowhere, the mystery-thriller movie Khufiya tells the tale of Krishna Mehra, an agent of the Indian spy organization R&AW, who is tasked with finding a mole who is selling defense secrets while juggling her dual identities as a spy and a lover.?
In order to remove Mirza, a Bangladeshi politician with connections to Pakistan's ISI, Krishna recruits a woman by the name of Heena. However, an insider leaks information about Heena's mission, and as a result, she is killed. The mole, the person responsible for the leak, was suspected to be Ravi Mohan during the investigation. To catch him, the crew put in secret cameras.?
We discover that Krishna had fallen in love with Heena while finding Ravi and the CIA's political motivations, and her problems with this case intensify. Everything comes to a serious, dramatic finish with more twists and turns.
The murder of Heena Rehman makes it clear that R&AW has a mole, and the inquiry into who, what, and why commences.?
Why And How Did Heena Die?
Heena Rehman, better known as Octopus, was present at a celebration thrown by Brigadier Mirza. When Mirza answers a phone call, he reveals he knows that the perfume she got was actually toxic?and stabs Octopus in the neck with a fork.?
As the movie draws to a close, Ravi finds a hidden camera at his house and flees to the USA with his mother and Kunal, leaving Charu (his wife), who opposes the betrayal of the nation, devastated. Krishna then travels to the USA and begins looking for Ravi once more. She teams up with him to murder Mirza this time. She makes a deal with Ravi that if he assists her in killing Mirza, he will be set free.
Krishna then intends to mix poison into lamb curry during dinner meet in order to make Mirza's death appear accidental rather than suspicious. Since no one was eating the curry, Mirza suspects something is fishy, so he slits Ravi's mother's throat, causing chaos in the home. As a result of Mirza slicing her throat, Ravi hits Mirza's head against the wall, injuring him. Krishna then devises a plot to let him bleed to death.
Krishna talks to her son in the final scenes and considers telling him the truth about where she works and that she is a lesbian which turned out to be a reason for her divorce. There is a sense of reconciliation when she calls him on his birthday.
Amar Bhushan, who served as the former head of counterespionage at India's foreign intelligence agency for twenty-four years, and his book Escape to Nowhere served as the inspiration for the film Khufiya. ?
His book was influenced by a real-life incident in which a CIA honey trap lured an R&AW operative. 2004's events happened precisely as predicted by Khufiya's timetable. The man in question was a CIA mole, according to a sophisticated surveillance system that the counterintelligence team had put up. Although we are aware that many details will have been dramatized and characters altered, etc., the account is largely accurate to what actually occurred.?
You can stream Khufiya on Netflix.
