Laal Singh Chaddha's massive failure grows more startling by the day.?This Bollywood movie is stumbling through deserted theatres and struggling to recoup its production costs.
The Forrest Gump remake, Laal Singh Chaddha, was already in theatres when the producers and Aamir Khan announced it would be available on streaming platforms six months after its theatrical debut. However, there hasn't been any official declaration regarding the OTT streaming service.
The movie starring Aamir, Kareena Kapoor, and Naga Chaitanya was eagerly anticipated by the public before it came out because it was predicted to be this year's largest moneymaker. Laal Singh Chaddha, however, turned out to be a huge box office flop.
The most recent rumours indicate that it is being hypothesised, that in order to recompensate the expense of the movie, the producers may choose to preempt the OTT release rather than wait the full six months.
Laal Singh Chaddha's streaming partner has reportedly been whittled down, despite the fact that the makers did not specifically specify any OTT platform for the movie's OTT release.?
Dnaindia cited the source as saying, "Aamir started negotiations with a massive figure of Rs. 150 crores citing his box office history and records. If that was not enough, Aamir was also adamant that the film would release on Netflix a whole six months after its theatrical release. Netflix tried its best to get Aamir to relent and lower the cost and time period between the theatrical and OTT release."
According to recent reports, the movie's only choice for digital distribution is Voot, which is owned by Viacom18 Studios and co-produced by Laal Singh Chaddha and Aamir Khan.?But, neither the team of Aamir and Laal Singh Chaddha nor the aforementioned streaming services have made any public statements about the deals.
Forrest Gump, the movie that served as Laal Singh Chaddha's inspiration, is available on Netflix.
