After a long wait, revenge-based crime drama Haddi is available on OTT. It has Nawazuddin Siddiqui playing the major part and is directed by Akshat Ajay Sharma, Intensity.
The film is based on the Life of a transgender and it creates an intense drama set against the murky secrets of Gurgaon and Noida.?
Well, you don¡¯t have to wait anymore. It released today i.e. 7th September 2023.
Everyone initially believed that the Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starring film would be released in theaters, but subsequently it was revealed that an OTT release would be taking place. Zee5 is now streaming the movie.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be featured as Haddi and Harika, a transgender character, exhibiting his extraordinary range. Anurag Kashyap, meanwhile, will be portrayed as a strong gangster-turned-politician, adding complexity to the plot. The movie also stars performances by Ila Arun, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and others in addition to Siddiqui and Kashyap.
Ila Arun was questioned about her decision to play a transgender character in Haddi in an interview with Hindustan Times.?
She said, "I'm the problem. My age actresses do 2-2 films in a year. I did Ghoomketu, Aafat-e-Ishq and then Chhalaang. I am shooting for three films right now. I played a transgender because actors are always looking for a challenging role. Otherwise, the face remains the same. What makes it different is the character that they play."
Ila Arun said that she has previously portrayed an 86-year-old in a children's movie. Arun claimed that she followed some transgender people, such as Lakshmi, in order to prepare for the part.?
?"Gracefully, she wears her saree. You need to get the body language right otherwise it is normal. It's a challenging thing to do with them on actual location but was a good opportunity", she said.
In response to lawsuits filed by two production firms, Tiger Trail and Oberoi Mega Entertainment LLP (owned by Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi) against Haadi's creators, the Bombay High Court recently declined to stay the film's release.
Apart from the main cast, Saurabh Sachdeva, Shridhar Dubey, Rajesh Kumar, Vipin Sharma, and Saharsh Shukla are in supporting roles.?
