Meet Yasmin Karachiwala, Deepika And Katrina's Pilates Teacher Who Charges Over Rs 1500/Session

The fitness regime of your favourite celebrity is an intriguing subject. All of us constantly wonder who makes our favourite stars look so fit and beautiful. Here’s one such fitness instructor that one must know of and it's Yasmin Karachiwala. She is the one behind the fitness of actresses like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif among others.

Born on 4th July 1970, Yasmin was born and raised in the USA. She arrived in India for further education and joined Saint X’aviers Mumbai. Interestingly, Yasmin was never interested in major sports and was more inclined towards hobbies like that of an average kid; playing, sleeping, eating and bingeing TV.

However, Yasmin wished to do only those things which held strength. She told DNA, “I liked to do things where I could show my strength. Even in school, the only sport I did was shot put and javelin throw, as it needed strength”. Yasmin first hit the gym at the age of 18 under the influence of another friend who wished to lose weight.

“Peer pressure works in many ways. As does peer acceptance. I flowed along, and the rest is history.”

After training from the American College of Exercise, Yasmin became certified in a fitness course and started with a small fitness studio in her guest room. Later she converted a part of her terrace into a studio. Yasmin later flew to Us and became India’s first BASI (Body Arts and Science International) certified Pilates instructor.

On the personal front, Yasmin Karachiwala is married to Minhaz Karachiwala and also has two sons with him.

Yasmin has been awarded the Best Fitness Instructor award at Vogue Fashion Awards 2013, Elle Beauty Awards 2015 for Best Fitness Expert, Giants Awards 2015, and Rotary Award 2015. The fitness advocate enjoys a large fan following of over 1M on Instagram.

For the unversed, Yasmin is also the first Balanced Body Master Pilates Instructor and Fletcher Pilates instructor in India. And for the most interesting part, Yasmin reportedly charges between Rs 20000 for 12 sessions and Rs 1900 for a single session. Interesting no?
