Yesterday, filmmaker Ashoke Pandit on Twitter tagged Ghaziabad Police and stated that an FIR shall also be filed against Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker.?
He called her?"urban naxal", "a compulsive liar and an expert in inciting communal violence" in regard to her tweet on?Ghaziabad Loni Incident where an elderly man was beaten up by at least four people.?
Now, as per a report on Indian Express and Times Now, a complaint has been filed against?actress Swara Bhasker, Twitter MD Manish Maheshwari, journalist Arfa Khanum Sherwani and others with Delhi Police seeking an FIR against the aforementioned for?spreading hate against the citizens by trying to give the incident a communal colour.
As per the complaint, the complaint seeks FIR against them all under IPC sections 153 (provocation for rioting), 153A (promoting enmity between different groups), 295A (acts intended to outrage religious feelings), 505 (mischief) and 120B (criminal conspiracy).
So far, the Ghaziabad Police have arrested three people in the case for assaulting?72-year-old Abdul Samad Saifi. Here's what happened in the case:
On June 5, 72-year-old Abdul Samad Saifi, a resident of Bulandshahr who was traveling to Loni, was thrashed by at least four men who also reportedly chopped off his beard.?
On June 7, Saifi lodged a complaint against the accused. He was accompanied by local Samajwadi Party leader Ummed Pahlwan Idrisi. In his complaint, he reportedly didn't mention his beard being chopped off. He alleged an auto-driver and three suspects drove him to a different location and beat him up. The video, going viral on social media, however, shows his beard being chopped off.
Later, in a Facebook Live video, Saifi who was with a leader of the Samajwadi Party, claimed he was forced to chant "Jai Shri Ram".?
As per Ghaziabad Police, Samad and the accused knew each other and the former was beaten up over a "personal dispute". The Police also denied that he was made to chant "Jai Siya Ram".?
Denying the communal angle in the case, Dr Iraj Raja, SP Rural, Ghaziabad, "The FIR has been filed for assault and intimidation as the complaint does not mention chanting of any religious slogans. We are also trying to ascertain the immediate cause of provocation that led to the incident".?
Following this, Ghaziabad Police on June 15 lodged FIR against nine entities. The FIR read, "The following entities -- The Wire, Rana Ayyub, Mohammad Zubair, Dr Shama Mohammed, Saba Naqvi, Maskoor Usmani, Salman Nizami -- without checking the fact, started giving communal colour to the incident on Twitter and suddenly they started spreading messages to disrupt the peace and bring differences between the religious communities."?
