About ten years ago, when?Pyaar Ka Punchnama?had released, it wasn't an instant hit, it won the hearts of the audiences gradually. It wasn't just Rajat's (Kartik Aaryan) rant that caught people's attention, it was also?Liquid's (Divyenndu Sharma) and Rajjo's bromance that was loved by the audiences.?
Interestingly, it marked the debuts of both of them. A decade later, these two have turned out to be successful actors. While Divyenndu is known for shows like Mirzapur, Aaryan is basking in the success of Bhool Bhulaiayaa 2.?
The film was such a massive hit, that Luv Ranjan made a sequel. Most of the cast including Kartik Aaryan, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Ishita Raj Sharma and Sonnalli Seygall returned for the sequel. Asked why Divyenndu was missing, he said didn't want to do the same role again.?
"He was new, there was nothing to learn. In fact, I was teaching him. He just graduated from an engineering college. He was happy, and I used to feel good looking at his happiness", he said.
While he said that he rejected Puchnama 2 because he didn't want to do the same role again, he somewhere regrets the decision. "Punchnama 1 became such a cult film; I obviously knew that 2 would become an even bigger hit. I have always said that I knew Punchnama 2 would be a huge hit and thatĄ¯s why I didnĄ¯t do it.?
"The only thing was I didnĄ¯t want to get typecast in the cute boy-next-door role - who just did hunky-dory films, because I knew as an actor, I could offer much more; and I always say this- ItĄ¯s my Tapasya as an artist that I finally got Munna (Mirzapur). You would agree with me that saying no to big films and big money is never ever easy. So my struggle actually started after I became successful".??
