From Arvind Kejriwal fasting to support farmers to installing wi-fi hotspots for them, Aam Aadmi Party has been showcasing constant support to the protesting farmers against the newly enacted farm laws.?
Recently, the party has helped farmers send defamation notices to several eminent personalities that include actress Kangana Ranaut, BJP MPs Ravi Kishan, Manoj Tiwari and Ramesh Bidhuri and Union minister Raosaheb Danve for defaming the farmers--through their statements--who have been peacefully protesting for their rights.
"AAP had pledged legal aid to farmers who wish to take legal recourse against relentless abuse to discredit Farmers Protest. As promised, today we have helped aggrieved complainant in sending Defamation notice to @KanganaTeam for her libellous and malicious remarks against Bebe ji," he wrote.
"Along with Kangana Ranaut, we have helped farmers send legal notices to BJP MPs Ramesh Bidhuri, Ravi Kishan, Manoj Tiwari and Minister Raosaheb Patil Danve," he wrote in another tweet.
"As per the defamation notices, the accused have 'launched a vicious and malicious campaign against the farmers¡¯ protests at Delhi¡¯s borders, with a view to spitefully obliterate the farmers¡¯ honest cause by attempting to corrode and harm their reputation,'" he said.
Meanwhile, Mahinder Kaur, who was misidentified by Kangana Ranaut as 'Shaheen Bagh dadi' has filed a complaint against Kangana Ranaut.?The complaint has been filed under IPC sections 499 (defamation) and 500 (punishment for defamation), Kaur's counsel Raghbir Singh.?Ranaut had shared a tweet alleging that the 'Shaheen Bagh dadi' also joined the farmers' agitation at various border points of the national capital. She retweeted the post with pictures of the two elderly women, including Bilkis Bano, and wrote that the "same Dadi" who featured in Time Magazine was "available in 100 rupees". She later deleted the tweet after Twitter users pointed out that both the women were different.
