Update: An insider close to the project has confirmed to Indiatimes that Janhvi Kapoor has not been approached to play Sita in the film.
After Adipurush turned out to be a disaster, now everyone is eagerly waiting for?Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. While the makers have not confirmed the cast of the film as of yet, reports suggest that Ranbir Kapoor has been roped in to play Lord Ram, Sunny Deol might be seen as Lord Hanuman, Vijay Sethupathi as Vibhishan, and Bobby Deol will likely play Kumbhakarn. Here's the reported?cast for Ramayana.
Now, as per fresh reports, Sai Pallavi whose name was doing the rounds for the role of Sita has been replaced by Janhvi Kapoor. While there's no official confirmation on the same, fans are seemingly not happy with this update.?
"It'll be all about bodycon sarees and ill-fitting blouses," a comment read.
"My wall clock has more expressions than Janhvi Kapoor," wrote another user.
"SHOCKER. Audiences should boycott this movie after this. Imagine first putting out articles that Sai Pallavi will be Sita & then snatch it away to present JHANVI KAPOOR," wrote another user.?
Who is Sai Pallavi? Here's all you need to know about the actress.?
It is a three-part project. The Dangal director who is helming this project had earlier said he?wanted kids as well as old people to be equally excited for the movie.?He added that he wanted kids who are Avengers fans will also love the movie.
"Ramayana is magical. It is something that we have not seen from an Indian maker. It has got a lot of magical qualities to it and the kind of forest we had, you had animals talking to us, this was something which is wonderful and it allows you to have the potential to present beautifully on screen a world that you have not seen before. It is a prep heavy film. It is very tough but gratifying if you can get it right, as you have the technology to do it," he was quoted as saying by PTI.? ? ??
"What makes it challenging that how do you tell a story to a six-year-old and retain the faith of 60-year-old. That is why it is taking the time. You have to strike a balance. My nine-year-old kid has to find it exciting, they are fans of Avengers. At the same time, it needs to be exciting for my mother-in-law at a level where she would be like I have not seen Ramayana in this form. It is a big challenge," he added.??
Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana will not be preachy.?
"When I say entertain, I don't mean to make people chuckle or laugh because that kind of stuff is not there in Ramayana. But the execution is also entertaining. The ultimate aim is to keep them glued to their seats," the Dangal director said.??
