Our Film Touched Their Hearts, Says Aamir Khan As SGPC Gives A Thumbs Up To Laal Singh Chaddha

Aamir Khan is currently gearing up for his much awaited film Laal Singh Chaddha, which has stirred a huge controversy on social media lately.?

Despite people demanding boycott of his film, actor Aamir Khan is leaving no stone unturned to see his film Laal Singh Chaddha being accepted by the audience across the nation and become a success at the box office.?

With only a few days left until the film's release, the actor recently held a special screening of Laal Singh Chaddha for the Sikh religious body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).?

According to Aamir Khan the SGPC loved his film and was touched by it. The actor further added that the Committee loved how a Sardar has been depicted in the upcoming film.?Aamir also revealed why it was important for him to hold the screening for SGPC.?

Amid the ongoing Bollywood crisis, Aamir wanted to make sure that the SGPC remained in unison with the way his character in the film has been fleshed out as it is based in Punjab and depicted the story of a Sardar.?

“I was very touched with the reaction of the members of the SGPC. I am so glad that our film touched their hearts so deeply," the Lagaan actor was quoted as saying by ETimes.?

For the unversed, Laal Singh Chaddha starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead role is an official Hindi remake of the 1994 Hollywood classic film Forrest Gump. It has been directed by Advait Chandan.?

Recently, the film received backlash for casting Mona Singh as Aamir Khan's mother in the film. People argued that being younger than 57-year-old Aamir Khan, someone older than Aamir should have played Mona Singh's role in Laal Singh Chaddha instead.?

Responding to the criticism faced for casting Mona Singh as his mother, Aamir Khan recently said in an interview, " I want to ask you a question that as an actor, as a creative person, if I'm looking 103, which I'm supposed to, why is my age inappropriate to play the role? Just because I am 57. What is the logic? Age specefic kya hota hai actor ke liye? Actor ka toh yeh kamaal hota hai ke woh kuch bi age ka ho aur kuch bi age lage. (What is age specific for an actor? It is the beauty of the actor to look any age on the screen despite their real age)."?
