The Nil Batte Sannata actor wrote on Twitter, ¡°NO WORDS for how horrifying, gruesome & tragic this case is. My heart goes out to this poor girl-awful betrayal by someone she loved & trusted. Hope police speedily conclude their investigation & hope this monster gets the harshest punishment he thoroughly deserves.¡±
Shraddha Walkar hailed from Maharashtra and moved to Delhi after a quarrel with her family who didn¡¯t approve of her relationship to Aaftab Amin Poonawalla. Aaftab and Shraddha met through the dating app Bumble and went into a relationship in 2019 alongside working in the same call centre.
Everything went smoothly after the duo moved to a rented flat in South Delhi but it was this year in May that Shraddha suspected Aaftab¡¯s affair with another woman and pressed him for marriage. Resulting in which, Aaftab went ahead to strangle her by sitting on her chest. He even bought a refrigerator, cut her into 35 pieces and stored them there. A few days later, he dumped those parts in different locations in Delhi.
The incident came to light after one of Shraddha¡¯s friends notified her father Vikas Madan Walkar about his daughter being unreachable for the last three months. After checking her inactive social media accounts, Vikas approached Mumbai Police to file a missing complaint.
The case was transferred to Delhi after Shraddha¡¯s last location was tracked to be in the capital city. Delhi Police then arrested Aaftab last Saturday and sent him for a five-day police remand. Aaftab confessed to having used a hacksaw on Shraddha and said his act was inspired by ¡°Dexter¡±, an American crime TV series.
