Johnny Depp v/s Amber Heard's defamation trial is more twisted than it appeared at first. With every passing day, the former couple tries to prove their side of the story to be more believable to the jurors.?
On Wednesday,?Hollywood actor Amber Heard's sister testified against Depp. She told a jury that back in March 2015, he repeatedly hit Heard in the face during an argument at the couple's penthouse.
According to Variety,?Heard, the defendant in a defamation lawsuit brought by Depp's sister, Whitney Henriquez, was called to the stand to corroborate the 'Aquaman' actor's allegations.
She described a fight where obscenities were being screamed at each other by Depp and Heard.?
Henriquez said, "Johnny had already grabbed Amber by the hair with one hand and was whacking her repeatedly in the face with the other as I was standing there."
Outside, she said she could hear Depp screaming, "I f-----g hate you! I f-----g hate you both! You f-----g cu--s! You f-----g wh---s!"
Soon after that event, Henriquez said, Depp asked her to sign a non-disclosure agreement. She refused.?"It was after this point that Johnny had accused me of selling stories to the media, which is absolutely untrue," Henriquez said during the testimony.
Henriquez previously testified about this fight, known in the Depp-Heard litigation as' 'the staircase incident, 'during the 2020 defamation trial in the UK involving the couple.
The outlet reports that Depp also testified about the incident in the Virginia trial on April 20.
He recalled taking a "roundhouse punch" from Heard in his account. Jurors were shown a picture of his bruised face.?
Heard is defending herself against Depp's USD 50 million libel lawsuit. Depp's team accused Heard of destroying his career with false physical and sexual assault accusations.?
Judge Penney Azcarate has scheduled closing arguments in the case for May 27, after which it will go to the jury.?The jury's decision on which of the two is more trustworthy will determine the trial's outcome.?
