Bollywood actor Vikrant Massey got into a heated argument on Thursday with a cab driver over a fare dispute, a confrontation captured on video and widely circulated on social media. This incident has sparked widespread debate over its authenticity, with many speculating it might be a promotional stunt and others supporting Massey.
The contentious video shows Vikrant disputing a cab fare that he claims was unexpectedly higher than what the app initially quoted. The driver, identified as Ashish, contends that the fare increase was automatic, triggered by the app itself, and beyond his control. Amidst the argument, Ashish claims that Vikrant resorted to verbal abuse and turned the camera on the actor. Vikrant, attempting to block the camera with his hand, is heard saying, (TRANSLATED:) ¡°Why have you taken out the camera? Are you threatening me? I am justified here. How has the amount increased on the app? This will not work.¡± Ashish responds, "How is this my fault? You earn so much money. Why are you arguing?" to which Vikrant retorts, ¡°It doesn¡¯t matter whose money it is. It is hard-earned money.¡±

While the interaction seems genuine at first glance, the debate among fans centres on whether this was a real dispute or merely a strategic move to generate buzz. The scepticism is fueled by the seemingly staged backdrop and by comments from the public, such as ¡°Script acchi hai.¡±??But there is also a section of commenters who supported Massey and said, "Vikrant has done nothing wrong."
One also wrote, "Vikrant is right....jaha jitna pesa lgta hai utna hi dena chahiye.... fir chahe shaqs koi bhi ho faltu pese kyu dene."
Translation: "Vikrant is right.... one should only pay as much as is required, no matter who the person is. Why pay extra unnecessarily?"
The entertainment industry has seen its share of fabricated dramas; for example, Kajol faced criticism in 2023 for misleading her fans with a dramatic social media blackout linked to her show, "The Trial," and Poonam Pandey recently received backlash for a stunt involving a fake death announcement.
Meanwhile, Vikrant Massey is gearing up for the release of his next film, the sequel to "Haseen Dilruba," titled "Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba."?

He is also involved in an upcoming project, "The Sabarmati Report," based on the 2002 Sabarmati Express incident. This incident has certainly put the spotlight on Massey, though whether it will affect his upcoming projects remains to be seen.
