Initial probe has revealed gross negligence from the pub owners Hitesh Sanghvi, Jigar Sanghvi, and Abhijit Manka who have now been booked under culpable homicide.
The fire broke out on the rooftop of the 1-Above restaurant, after its shed, made of bamboo and plastic, began to burn. It engulfed the building in less than 30 minutes with dozens of people trapped inside.

The restaurant did not follow any safety norms and did not have any fire extinguishing equipment on the premise. What made the tragedy even worse is that the fire exit door of the restaurant was allegedly blocked by its staff causing a delay in the evacuation.
