Ayodhya Ram Mandir Inauguration: UP Eyes World Record With Longest Line Of Solar Street Lights

The countdown to the grand ceremony for inauguration of the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya, scheduled for January 22, has officially commenced.

The Yogi Adityanath government plans to set a 'green' world record for the day by installing the longest line of solar-powered street lights in Ayodhya.

Renewable energy for the Ram temple inauguration

Determined to increase the use of renewable and green energy resources in Ayodhya, UPNEDA (Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency) will install 470 solar-powered lights covering a stretch of 10.2 km connecting Guptar Ghat to Laxman Ghat.

Officials are confident that the lights on the stretch would become operational before January 22, the day of 'pran pratishtha'.

"The road between Guptar Ghat and Laxman Ghat, which is 8.35 km long, already has solar lights. It will be extended by 1.85 km up to Nirmali Kund within a week," an officer said.

Presently, 310 out of 470 lights are functional, and the last leg of the stretch between Guptar Ghat and Nirmali Kund has to be covered.

Plans to upscale Saudi Arabia

The current record holder is Malham, Saudi Arabia, which lit up 468 solar lights in a series over a stretch of 9.7 km.

This record was achieved in December 2021.

LED-based solar lights to light up 'solar city'

The 4.4-watt LED-based solar lights are equipped with smart technology (can sense daylight and switch off automatically) and are linked to the grid created to supply renewable energy to Ayodhya.

In fact, the UP government plans to set up a solar city to provide renewable and green energy to the public.

Neighbours prepare for Ayodhya travel: Uttarakhand starts bus service to Ayodhya

Ahead of the grand inauguration of Ram Mandir on January 22, the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation has started a bus service from Dehradun to Ayodhya on the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

An official release by the Uttarakhand Chief Minister's office has said that the bus will depart from Dehradun at 11:30 am and reach Ayodhya at 5 am the next day and will depart from Ayodhya at 3 pm and reach Dehradun at 8 am the next day.

The total fare of this bus service operating from Dehradun to Ayodhya has been kept at Rs 1095.
