Good samaritans from across the world have been ordering pizzas from a local pizzeria for doctors, emergency workers and ordinary people still in Kharkiv. The owner of the pizzeria?Pavlo has been driving around the city, delivering the pizzas himself. The story has been brought to light by a local journalist on Twitter.??
"The owner of a pizzeria in Kharkiv, Pavlo, delivers pizza around the city on his own. According to him, people call from abroad and pay for orders for doctors, emergency workers and ordinary people," tweets Hanna Liubakova. Her bio says Liubakova is a journalist from Minsk, Belarus.
Later, she also posted a tweet thanking people who have been ordering pizzas. "Folks, I read your comments that you want to order pizza. You are amazing! Thank you," she wrote.
International Sikh charity Khalsa Aid has been running their assistance mission on these borders to provide food and water to those coming from Ukraine.According to the UK-based charity, its volunteers have been providing free langar and assistance to students at the borders of Poland, Hungary, Moldova.
Meanwhile, Ukraine's government has accused Russia of genocide and war crimes. The Kremlin dismisses the allegations as propaganda and says its forces are not targeting civilians.Russia's UN Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia told the Security Council that accusations of abuse were lies. He said that while Bucha was under Russian control "not a single civilian suffered from any kind of violence."
