In a shocking crime, a serving police official was murdered in Delhi's Vivek Vihar area, allegedly for questioning illegal liquor sale.
The incident happened on Sunday night when Delhi Police Sub Inspector Rajkumar, a resident of Kasturba Nagar confronted a gang who were engaged in an argument with cops posted at a police picket to check illegal liquor sale in the area.
Rajkumar reportedly took out his phone and began recording the entire incident.
Meanwhile, one of the bootleggers spotted Rajkumar and started hurling abuses at him. When Rajkumar warned him, he started thrashing and even stabbed him.?
The inspector who managed to get back to his home in the neighborhood after being stabbed went to a nearby hospital on his scooter accompanied by his daughter. On the way, he fainted, but his daughter managed to take Rajkumar to the hospital from where he was referred to the Max Hospital in Patparganj where he was declared brought dead.?
Based on the family's complaint, police have arrested one Vijay alias Bhuri, a history-sheeter who has a number of criminal cases against him.
The family also alleged that Vijay and his associates who had been selling liquor illegally in the area for long had threatened Rajkumar in the past too.
