Chief Minister Navin Patnaik's Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has filed Santrupt Misra as its candidate for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections from the Cuttack seat. 58-year-old Mishra is also the?richest?candidate in the fray from Odisha?which?will vote in four phases to elect 21 members of Parliament.?According to his election affidavit submitted on Friday, Misra has assets?worth?about?Rs 461 crore.
This?includes movable assets worth Rs 408 crore and immovable assets amounting to Rs 53 crore.
Most of Misra's assets are in the form of investments in mutual funds, alternate investment funds, bonds, and shares?totalling?Rs 308 crore.

Misra has around Rs 4 crore in bank deposits, including 100 pounds (equivalent to Rs 10,521), in a London bank.
He also owns a flat?each?in Hyderabad and Mumbai and a fleet of luxury cars worth over Rs 2.3 crore.
In addition to this Misra's wife has movable assets valued at Rs 11.72 crore.
Misra who holds two Post Graduate degrees also has two PhDs, from India and UK. He joined BJD in February this year, after a nearly three-decade-long stint with the Aditya Birla Group.
Misra was the head of Aditya Birla Group's Human Resource Department when he took voluntary retirement in December 2023.?
Misra who joined the Aditya Birla Group in 1996 from Hindustan Unilever was one of the earliest appointees to Kumar Mangalam Birla's top team of the company.
Over the years, Misra rose through the ranks and became the CEO of Birla Carbon; the Director of Aditya Birla Chemicals?and?the Director, Group?Human Resources for the Aditya Birla Group.
Misra will be up against Bhartruhari Mahtab, the six-term MP who switched to BJP after he was denied a seat by the BJD for the elections to be held on May 25.
