A little-known terror outfit,?The Resistance Front?(TRF), believed to be a shadow outfit of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba has claimed responsibility for the killing of a Sikh school principal and her Kashmir Pandit colleague in Srinagar on Thursday.
"Our fight is to safeguard our freedom...Domicile holders, stooges, and collaborators, regardless of religion, are enemies of the Kashmir struggle and will not be spared," a purported statement by the outfit said.
About the two teachers, the TRF said that they were targeted because they pressured students to attend the Independence Day function on the campus on August 15.
According to The Times of India, principal Supinder Kour and her colleague Deepak Chand were the only non-Muslim staff at the Sangam Eidgah Boys' Higher Secondary School.
On Thursday, three gunmen had barged into the campus and checked their ID cards before they were escorted out.
The two teachers were shot multiple times by the terrorists who took them outside the building.
While Chand died instantly while Kour succumbed to her injuries en route to a hospital.
TRF has claimed responsibility for the killings of three more civilians in Srinagar this week.
Makhan Lal Bindroo, a prominent Kashmiri Pandit businessman, a roadside vendor identified as Virendra Paswan, and Mohammad Shafi Lone, the president of the local taxi stand, were shot dead on Tuesday evening.
According to TRF's spokesperson Umar Wani, Bindroo was killed because he was an RSS worker while Paswan was a non-local informer of the Intelligence Bureau and Lone was also an informer.
This week alone seven civilians have been killed by terrorists in Srinagar.
Out of the seven four were from minority religious communities.
On Thursday, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha warned those aiding and abetting terrorists that every drop of innocent civilians' blood will be avenged.
The LG assured the people that they will "completely demolish" the terror ecosystem.
