Israel Ignores UN Warning On 'War Crimes', Continues Attacks On Gaza
Despite the warning by the United Nations?that targeting densely populated residential areas "could amount to war crimes," Israel continued to attack targets in Gaza Strip on Wednesday. Israel has been attacking?Gaza's largest refugee camp in which more than a hundred people have been killed reportedly.?
According to AFP, bombs struck the Jabalia camp for a second time in two days. Extensive damages were seen at the spot,?with people frantically clawing through rubble to extract bloodied casualties.
Israel has maintained that it is targeting "a Hamas command and control complex" and "eliminating" an undefined number of militants.
'Entire families killed'
The rescue workers at the sport reported that they found entire families killed at some places, however they could not ascertain any particular number of the casualties due the the latest attacks. Rescuers said "whole families" had died, but casualty details could not be immediately confirmed.
Israel has reportedly hit 11,000-plus targets in?Gaza?since October 7 following Hamas attack into Israel in which 1400 Israelis were killed.?
According to?Gaza's health ministry, 8,796 Gazans have been killed so far, mostly women and children. Whole neighbourhoods in?Gaza?have been levelled.
International response
The United Nations has called the ongoing Israeli strikes disproportionate attacks that could amount to war crimes.
Meanwhile, Israel's immediate neighbour Jordan has recalled its ambassador to Israel.
On Wednesday, Bolivia ended its diplomatic ties with Israel, while Colombia and Chile recalled their envoy's in a response to Israeli attack on Gaza's largest refugee camp.?
According to AFP, on Wednesday, hundreds of foreign passport holders, and wounded and sick Palestinians, were allowed to escape the fighting into Egypt, the first such evacuations since the war began.
Turkey and Iran called for a regional conference to prevent a conflagration, as Israel faces a daily barrage of aerial attacks from Hamas and other Iran-backed groups around the Middle East, including Yemen's Huthi rebels.
