Israeli attack last night on Gaza's largest refugee camp that killed dozens of people has drawn criticism from several countries of the world. Bolivia announced that it has ended diplomatic ties with the Jewish State while Colombia and Chile have recalled their envoys after the attacks.??

Meanwhile. Saudi Arabia condemned the attack in which Israel claimed that a Hamas commander was also killed.

Arab League (AL) Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit has strongly condemned the deadly Israeli airstrike on the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip.

In a statement on Tuesday, the AL chief said that it was "a new crime" in Gaza and that the international community should no longer remain silent, Xinhua news agency reported.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement the attack was a "flagrant violation of international laws".

Jordan's Foreign Ministry also condemned the attack and said Jordan held Israel responsible for the dangerous development.

Israel, however, said that its target was a Hamas tunnel complex under the densely populated Jabalia camp. According to Israel, local battalion commander of Hamas, Ibrahim Biari, who was said to be involved in October 7 attacks was hiding there, said an AFP report.

AFP witnessed at least 47 bodies being recovered from the scene.

Saudi Arabia denounced the strike "in the strongest terms possible", decrying the "inhumane targeting" of the refugee camp "by the Israeli occupation forces".

The attack, Saudi Arabia's foreign ministry said, had "caused the death and injury of a large number of innocent civilians".

The statement is the latest sign the Israel-Hamas war has fractured efforts to normalise relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel.
